Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is a condition in which there is a non-cancerous increase in the size of male breast tissue. Newborn and adolescent males often experience temporary gynecomastia due to the influence of maternal hormones and hormonal changes during puberty, respectively. There are a number of medications that have been associated with gynecomastia. Cessation of these agents can result in regression of the tissue growth. If the growth is persistent and associated with discomfort, surgical intervention may offer relief. |
